Tax-Free Cannabis Purchases for all DOH Registered Medical ID Holders
One of the greatest advantages of having a medical marijuana card is the substantial tax savings. Retail cannabis purchases in Washington state are subject to a 37% cannabis excise tax and sales tax. However, registered medical ID holders are exempt from sales tax on all products and from sales and excise tax on all DOH (Department of Health) approved products. DOH products are easily identifiable by their package labels:

- 216 ounces of cannabis-infused products in liquid form (liquid edibles and tinctures)
-
21 grams of cannabis concentrates (concentrates, infused pre-rolls, and RSO)
